Lewis in “August: Osage County” – takes the role of Riseborough

Before some time there was a rumor, not officially confirmed, that probably Andrea Riseborough would pass “August: Osage County“. (The post from July 11 you can see here: “Riseborough passed “August: Osage County”“) So I found a post from July 17 for a new actress who will join Streep and Roberts in the upcoming movie. It seems Juliette Lewis is in talks to join the cast as Streep’s character (Violet) youngest daughter Karen. With other words – the character that would be played by Riseborough. So it seems now that Riseborough dropped out from the cast so Lewis will subtitude her in her role. The movie will start in September.

Riseborough passed “August: Osage County”

Just after the news piece for Andrea Riseborough who would play Violet’s (Meryl’s character) youngest daughter Karen, now it was reported that she passed cause dates didn’t work out. It wasn’t officially confirmed so it is only a rumor. Also there have been scheduling conflicts which were caused by the fact that Andrea’s role didn’t require her to be on set and film for the majority of the filming schedule, so her filming dates weren’t really established until very, very recently. This caused the scheduling conflict after her acceptance of the role.

Andrea Riseborough in “August: Osage County”

Andrea Riseborough will join Meryl Streep and Julia Roberts in their play in “August: Osage County” in 2013. This rising british actress broke onto the scene in 2010 with “Made In Dagenham“, “Never Let Me Go and Brighton Rock“. Riseborough is slated to play Violet’s (Meryl Streep) youngest daughter, Karen, who’s likely being written younger as her stage character is notably 40 years of age.

Madonna’s “W.E.,” in which Riseborough plays infamous heiress Wallis Simpson, also came and went, but the actress is fighting back, starring in “Shadow Dancer” and “Welcome to the Punch” later this year and is currently shooting “Oblivion” opposite Tom Cruise.
